Sad thing is when you get a piece of nail stuck between your teeth. It's hard to get out when it shreds the floss and you can't wedge it out with a fork or a pen................or so I've heard.Originally Posted by northcat_8

Teeth will actually move more than you think. Try pressing the point of a toothpick just below where it is, and keep steady pressure there. Not a lot, just a little, but be patient. You'll feel it slowly working into the gap. After a while, about 5 minutes or so, pull out the toothpick and quickly work out the object before the tooth floats back to its original positionOriginally Posted by Doramius

At least now it's something that's biodegradable. The down side is that you'll have to wait 3,400 years for it to either petrify or decompose. But you're not thinking about the fingernail sliver any more ..am I right?Originally Posted by Doramius

I actually use extremely fine piano wire. it's expensive, but it does the job. Even with strong gums, they bleed. My teeth are actually well spaced and fine. the thing I get stuck in them mostly are popcorn seed shells and apple skins. It's not uncommon to find me eating an apple with a knife and removing the skin. I rarely eat popcorn, too.
