Hi,
I got this DVD that I would like to edit/change the audio that's on it. Is it possible to actually "insert" the new audio back into the VOB files and just burn the new DVD or will I have to actually convert it to a MPG 2 and re-do the whole thing?

Unless I missed an app that would do that, no. You must reauthor any time you change the audio. Authoring muxes the audio and video together, and the finished VOB is a muxed file. No easy way to slip in different audio

but in this case, I would have to re-convert the video to mpg 2, right? no way to multiplex the audio and the video directly from the original vob to a new vob?

You can open VOB files with many editors. But you might be better off using an app like Vobrator to demux the VOB into component audio and video streams, then just open the video in an editor. Add the audio you want, and encode. Then author and that should do it, provided the audio is the same length as the video and you're not worried about lip-sync issues.Originally Posted by correioelet2002
