Heh...The Maxell-002 8x+R I got at office depot (very, very, very pale teal topped), did not have country of origin on the package...not that I could find, and I looked very carefully, although the -R 4x I bought did have made in japan. (Speaking of 15 pack spindles..dont know about the rest).

Look above the barcode. They should and do have the country of origin

The country of origin is there, it's in the UPC code area.

I got one pack of MXLRG03 from Office Depot yesterday to replace the 15 or so I wasted on that defective PX-712A (RMA#3, woo!!).

Just found a nice surprise at my local OD. Imation 4x DVD+R(RicohJPNR01) on clearence for $9.88 for a 50 pack. I grabbed two packs. I also grabbed a pack of DVD-R that didn't have a speed lable. They turned out to be RitekG03.

There weren't many left. The manager pointed them out to me when I asked about some other media.

I tried another OD and they had the same sets for full price of $35 or something.
