Hi people, first post.
I recently downloaded an avi from the web which is encoded with qpel. When I burn to DVD my player (Kiss 1000) is unable to play the movie because of the qpel (Is there some kind of firmware update to cure this?). I guess the only way to play it on that particular player is to remove the qpel somehow, ie. by re0encoding the avi to a different format. Is this the case? i have tried this using ffmpegx but cannot find a similar quality of video to my original. Time and size does not matter i just want to achieve the best possible quality.
I appreciate any advice, thanks

Qpel is incompatible with a lot of hardware and software players. KISS may or may not make a firmware upgrade that allows the KISS 1000 to read DivX with Qpel. All kind of recompressions are lossy, you cannot convert without loss. You could try to convert to SVCD og DVD.Originally Posted by kiemposan
