Hey I tried to change MP3, info and I can NOT change it. I see on the bottom of my IE that it says the files are protected.

Is there a way I can get around this so I can change the Tag's within the Mp3s?

    Thanks!

well windows media player can, but it runs as part of the player, I like it to be a seperate utility and not part of the adv. tag editor thing.

    but thanks!

I *think* CDEX might be able to do it also.
    If in doubt, Google it.

MP3's are not protected. any tag editor can changed them as well as Winamp.

I don't quite understand what you mean by the bottom of IE says they are protected. could you elaborate a little?

  9. i think he was wanting to change the summary information, but couldnt as tehy were marked as "read only" which would stop him from changing ,say the title name,or extra info.
ive tried to change the info on a few mp3s too,and they digital rights management activated, and wouldnt let me play or edit them,.-they lasted about 40 seconds on my pc after that.

Yes, that is what I mean... it had to do with read only file settings. I changed it, and now the status message does not show up. I tried to duplicate it by reinstating the 'read only' but for some reason i can not. Not sure why it does come back, but the underlining problem is fixed. (being able to change tagID info.)

    thanks!

I do NOT see any PM! It says "no messages" where or how do I see PM's?

Send me email... or I will check back again.

Sorry and do let me know about PM, I don't seem to have any or I don't know how to access.

    Thanks!!!
