When I use Gspot to check a video it says I mssing the Xvid.ax in c:\windows\system32
Does anyone know where I can download it or restore it, or if I even need it at all?
Thank you

At a guess I'd say it is a file associated with the XviD codec. To fix, it should as simple as re-installing an XviD codec. You'll only need it you play or convert XviD files on your computer.
If in doubt, Google it. -
yes I reinstalled Xvid, but it says it can't find the file on my computer. All the movies play just fine, just wondering if this is a critical file that needs recovering??
Many thanks for your help -
It is XviD's dshow decoder. If files play fine without it, then something else like ffdshow is being used to decode. If you want just xvid.ax you can grab it here: http://celticdruid.no-ip.com/xvid/
The 7-zip files contain just the XviD files; xvid.ax, xvidvfw.dll and xvidcore.dll.
