  3. You have not mentioned which tools you've used, but nonetheless there are quite a few mpeg2 editing tools outside this site might want to search a bit more. Not all work perfectly. However, I will share with you a method that has always worked with me. It's a bit long though. You will need two softwares which are free: PVAStrumento and MPEG2Schnitt. The first is used to demux the mpg file to its respective video and audio files/streams (you can used other software if you like. TMPGEnc does a decent job in demuxing as well) . MPEG2Schnitt is the editing tool but it only accepts separate audio and video files. After demuxing your two mpg2 files load the first into MPEG2Schnitt set the in and out points which in this case would be the begining and the end of the movie. then Press the NEW button. Load the second clip and do the same. Last step press on the cut button and the two videos will be joined. You will have to multiplex the audio and video files again to get your final mpeg file.

Thanks, buddy, I think I confused you guys here, let me make it more clear.
I need to join 2 or more mpeg1 files which had been rip-off from the VCD (I used "iosbuster" to rip the video from vcd), I tried using "mpeg joiner", "movie joiner", "video joiner" etc to put those files together, none of them work correctly at the output file, all the output file have problem in playing time as I mention earlier.......

Why would you join them? If you want them on DVD, this can (should) be done during authoring (TMPGEnc DVD Author) - just add the 2 mpgs as 2 parts of the same title.

  6. Try MPEGVideoWizard from Womble. It will join mpegs without re-encoding and is easy to use. I believe there is a trial download that you can use. good Luck!

  7. as Mats said, TDA will do a job.

However, just because the files were on the same VCD doesn't automatically mean they have the exact same properties.

They may have different video bitrates for instance. Some VCD authoring programs will allow this if they are seperate tracks on the vcd. It will be difficult to "join" them in that case without re-encoding.

I download the trial. I read that it works without re-encoding but when you go to export there is an option to choose CBR or VBR. Doesn't that mean it's re-encoding?

  9. VideoRedo is another option that works well without reencoding.
