OK, time to explain ...

Cobra, Cap and I were skyping when Cobra was inebriated and he suggested we both try this experiment. All we were told was to count the number of passes - Cap to count the bounce passes, me to count the "on-th-full" passes. Being in direct competition with each other, we both watch the video intently at the same time and reported our findings. Cobra then asked both of us "Did you see the gorilla ?". We both laughed and told Cobra that the drinking was affecting his brain a bit more than normal. He told us to watch the video again, but not focus on the passes - just watch it "normally"., and so we did, and we then saw the gorilla. Neither Cap nor I saw the gorilla on the first watch, because we were so intently focused on the job at hand. Cobra then told us that a whole auditorium watched this with exactly the same outcome - not one of them saw the gorilla.

Apparently this is an exercise of the mind, and is *supposed* to illustrate the way we can "choose" to see only what we want to see.

That tells me that the people here that saw it straight off have concentration problems ...

lol.. i had a feeling that was it.. and to be honest.. i set a plan the first time i watched it i would analize it to see which would be easer to count, so i watched it once and decided to count the people in the black throwing on the full passes.. so i did.. so i watched it a second time and got the number i came up with.. and to be sure i decided to watch it a third time to double check lol.. thats when i noticed the gorilla.. haha.. at that point i decided to consiously look at everything on there so that i didnt miss anything...
