I recently purchased a new set top DVD Recorder (Pioneer DVR-320-S). Thanks for the advice guys, it seems like a fine unit. My main goal is to convert VHS to DVD-RW, lightly edit - such as add my own background photos, music, and create custom chapter points, and then burn to DVD-R. I figured I could do this with NeoDvd Plus 5.0. I have several other programs but NEO, in my experience, is by far the fastest for these seemingly simple tasks. My problem is that before I bought this new unit I was stupid enough NOT to check my authoring programs for compatibility with -RW technology. I would love do the editing right on the disc, which is what makes NEODVD attractive to me. However since it doesn't support -VR, I tried importing a -RW in Video mode from my set top and it automatically sets chapter points or creates separate files every few seconds and makes the task impossible. I know this should be simple, so please have patience, but can anyone tell me a fast way to :
1. Record in DVD-RW video mode on set top DVD Recorder
2. Add Menus and chapter points on PC
3. Output to DVD-R or record to same DVD-rW
Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!!!!

Just curious what do you use to rip it???
Does anyone know how to open a disc in NEODVD as one file? The frontiers of our mind are the last place we find, but maybe the first place we should look. -
Most standalones record in VR format and the video has the extension ".VRO". Many newer editing and authoring apps like Nero Vision Express will open these just fine. No rip is necessary - just copy to your HD.

If you copy right to your hard drive, there will be .vob .VTS Files about 12 files i think, but if you rip you can rip one Big file that contains the Movie then author, with somthing like ulead.
