  1. I authored a DVD using TMPGenc DVD Author..

Problem is DVD will play on my computer, but when I use it in my Toshiba set top DVD player it will play for 3 secs and freeze? Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

Hello M., The problem may be a variety of things....! Take the DVD to your local DVD player store & try playing it on a variety of machines. If most of the players play the DVD, then the problem is more than likely your DVD player - it may be too old. If the same problem happens with the other DVD players, then the problem lies in your mpeg-2 files or somewhere in your authoring process.

    Good Luck...

Sounds like bad media, or the non-compliant TDA burning engine (known to do this!)

Try output as a video_ts folder in tmpgenc dvd author and burn with another burn tool, https://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?howtoselect=3;25#3;25

If it doesn't help it is probably baaaaaad media.

    If in doubt, Google it.

  7. Ok I tried using divx to dvd software by vso and again used Nero to burn the Video_TS folder to a DVD-RW (Verbatim) I changed the encoding software and the media and got the same results. The DVD-RW will play on the computer. Looks like it's my DVD player...But I have authored other DVD's with the same media and it plays.

Could there be a problem with my Toshiba SD 430 V?

I don't think so. It's pretty hard to ascertain exactly what the problem might be, I'm afraid
    If in doubt, Google it.

    Hi,

I have the same pb as well, so I do all the authroing with Tmpg DVD Authoring, then burn with CloneDVD2, and it works nicely. Good luck.
