I've opened an AVI file in Soundforge and see the video clip window on top, and its associated audio track window below.
The VHS cam I used originally only had mono audio capability, and Soundforge reflects this by showing a stereo track but only one channel with audio content.
Before applying noise reduction, do I need to:
1: Copy the waveform in the 'active' channel to the blank channel?
2: Change the stereo track to a true mono track?
3: Leave it as is?
Thanks for all your great help!
John

Copy the track (double click on one of the horizontal lines in the wave meter), and then paste into the blank one.
