  1. I am having difficulties with my DVD+R disks. I have several DVD burning programs from DVD X Copy to DVD Cloner. The problem is that the movies burn fine on a DVD+RW disk, but when I burn them on DVD+R, the disk won't play. I've tried saving the image to my hard drive first, then burning in various other programs and sometimes it works, but most the time it doesn't. It's VERY aggrivating since I waste alot of DVD+R's, and there's no way to test it first since my test is burning it onto an RW, which works fine (pr viewing the image on the hard drive to make sure it ripped o.k.). PLEASE HELP!

does it play on the computer? or is it the home dvd that doesnt play it?

    what type of media?

what type of burner do you have?

  3. Right now, it won't even play on the computer...let alone a home DVD player! I have tried several brands of disks. I usually prefer the Imation since that is one of the only brands that I have found to play on all my home DVD players (when it does burn). Earlier this year, I was having problems with the software and/or burner working at all. I figured I was misssing a DLL file or something, so i finally downloaded Registry first Aid, which fixed the DLL and cleaned my computer. Then all the sudden my DVD software and burner worked great...for about a week. Now it only seems to burn on +RW's as it was before. My birner is an external HP dvd 200e model.
I thought about thrying another disk/registry cleaner, but it seems like this is alot of junk to do to get it to burn right, but I'll do whatever I need to so that I can stop wasting disks!

BTW...I was going to suggest DVD-R but they won't work on your HP.

  8. Thanks glockjs and moviegeek! I will try your tips! Unfortunately being a dirt poor teacher, buying a new burner will have to wait! If you come across any other ideas, please let me know! I'll let you know what happens after I update firmware and defrag tonight and this weekend!

I had the exact same problem with -R media and switched to +R media. My burner even burned -RW media flawlessly, but I could never find a -R media that worked consistently in my burner. I now generally buy +R media in 5 packs to try them out, then buy in quantity once I find one my burner likes. However, at present, the score is that 5/6 + media have worked well in my burner, but 0/3 -R media have.
