  1. i have an avi file with audio in the left channel only....i want to convert it to an mpeg-2 with audio in both channels.....anyone know how to do this?

    open the avi in goldwave, copy the left channel to the right channel. save as wav. convert to mpeg2 with tmpgenc, select the wav as the audio source.

    One way you could probably do it would be to save the audio file from the avi to wav using vitrualdub. Then use an audio editor like audacity to create a stero track using the same channel for both. It's been a long time since I have done this so I don't remember exactly how to do it in audacity. Hopefully someone can give you a more detailed guide.
