  1. It's non video, but I've got an older Mac that has a dead ethernet port, so I can't network it, but it's got an older 4x burner on it, I'm trying to transfer a bunch of files off of it using CD-RW's, but...I don't know how to reformat them or erase them so I can use them again... I feel like an eediot.....any pointers, using the latest Toast, etc on OSX 10.3.5, I'll erase or reformat them there...

In Toast's Recorder menu choose Erase. If you plan to burn the disc with Toast choose the Quick Erase option. Otherwise choose the Full Erase option.

  3. Just some added information... since it's not obvious.

For those who do not have Toast, Disk Utility under Mac OS X lets you erase Cd-RW disks too.

    Cheers

As a suggestion. does this Mac have a firewire port? You can always use that for transfer of files, makes it real fast.......
