Firmware for Kepermedia KDVRW8X

Does anyone know if there is a firmware update for this drive? I would like to upgrade it to dual format. I have read that it is a Benq DW800a. It was purchased at Office Max. An help would be appreciated.

I is either a Benq 800A or a Cyberdrive DX082D. Look at this link for the latest firmwares: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_all.php

You can use the Nero Infotool or dvdinfopro or whatever to identify the firmware that is currently loaded to figure out which drive you have. By the way, they are both great +r burners.

My software ID's this drive as a Cyberdrive DX082d.

I downloaded the firmware upgrade from www.cyberdrive.com which was supposed to enable DVD-R/RW (from its original DVD+R/RW only).

Although Nero now ID's the drive as DVD+/- R/RW, I cannot write or read to -R media, although it records to +R/RW flawlessly.

Anyone have any success or suggestions?
