I have been trying to burn using my new benq 1620 burner. I am using fujifilm dvd-r 8x which have a TYG02 media code. I have tried using dvd decrypter to rip and burn a ps2 back up, but it will not let me burn at a 1x speed. It will automatically start burning at 12x no matter what speed i set the burn speed at. Is this a media problem or a burner problem

Why do you need to burn at 1x? I don't think most burners these days will even let you burn that low; for many 4x is the minimum speed. Is there any reason to think that burning at higher that 1x won't allow the game to be read by the PS2?

Well wont there be more errors on the ps2 game backup if its burned at a speed faster then 1x?

Not necessarily. TYG02 is rated for 8x and burns very well at its rated speed on most burners, DW1620 included. I've burned DVD movies at 8x speed and had no problems with playback on standalone DVD players or my PS2, no reason to think a PS2 game would be any different.
