hello i have a question i have a dvd movie and would like to take sections from it ,like two or three clips which i would like to cut out and get the best quality. i am looking to put santa in a mock trial and would like to get video clips for a play we are puting on but i can't get good quality. i have adobe premiere but you can't put dvd files in it. i have used moviemaker in the past and can edit everything i need but i don't get good quality because i have to make it into an mpeg 1 and the quality is bad. is there anything else i could use. i'm playing it on a stand alone player so it needs to be turned back into mpeg or dvd format any help would be appreciated thank you

If it's a DVD then it's already DVD format so you don't need to turn it back. The easiest way is to use TMPGEnc DVD Author. It will open the vob's, let you edit out what you don't want and will output and even burn a new disc for you.
For future reference, Movie Maker is good for nothing but taking up space on your hard drive."Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning?"

I have ALWAYS been able to import MPEG-2 files into Premiere. All you need is the correct codecs/plugins to do it.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)
