Well I'm black and I have been turned down from lots of jobs because I am black, not because I wasnt qualified. (been told I wasnt the right fit for the position.)

Been on many interviews where people thought I sounded "white" on the phone and had a strange look on their face when they met me in person and seemed very disinterested in me before the first interview question.
I have even seen a arsehole throw my resume in the trash before.

Went on one job interview for an engineering position at one company and they hired a someone that didnt even have a college degree (they were working on it) and the job description had must have engineering degree as a qualification for the job.

African Americans make up about 12% of the population in a America if every black person in the US had a job that would mean that 88% of the jobs are left for anybody else.

I have also been on many interview panels in which othe people of color were not choosen because they felt that this particular person wouldnt fit in with the other workers or the environment there and other lame excuse.
These were comments made from other people on the panel with me! More often than not they were just as qualified as any other canidate with one minor exception

I dont feel that everyone is predjudiced and I have not been treated unfairly on every interview I have ever went on. I also realized that some people are more qualified for certain positions than I am. After every interview when I didnt get the job I never made and excuse about that person got the job because they were white. I just realized that some people out there are like that and if I didnt get that position that there is something bigger and better out there for me.
