If I have a client DVD that features more than one .vob, it plays back fine and seamlessly when being played on any of my DVD players or when captured to the PC via capture cards.
But if I copy the .vobs to my HD (this is not copy-protected stuff) or use any number of software tools to rip the .vobs and then play them back in a wide assortment of NLEs for editing, including the Womble ones, there is always a visible and audible gap when crossing from one .vob to the next, even after re-encoding. It's brief but the visual jerk and audio gap that occurs is always enough to distract from the flow of the content.
How do people handle these gaps? I don't want to have to edit out frames or partial frames.
Thanks.

Rip the movie back to a SINGLE VOB file.

Thanks LS, that works.
GShelley61 suggested that I join them into one file using FileJoiner and that worked but only if I did it from the actual DVD. If I did it from vobs that had been copied to the HD the gaps came back.
I wonder what it is about keeping the vob files separate on a hard drive that gives gaps.
