I did'nt know you could change the "bitsetting on the burner".

Another thing you have to consider too is when backing up or creating DVD's make sure you have DVD burner that is capable of changing the booktype or what is also known as the bitsetting if you want your DVD to be more compatiable with playing on home DVD players, PS2 consoles etc. As changing of the bitsetting is very important and it is the main reason why most DVD's do not play on home DVD players for. As basically what it does is it changes the DVD +R media into a DVD ROM disc. So it fools the DVD player into thinking it is a proper DVD disc. [i]

Not all dvd burners support bitsetting. Pioneer is the only brand that does not support bitsetting but it does for DVD+R DUAL LAYER media not SINGLE LAYER media. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong about that. Plextor finally has enabled bitsetting on their dvd burners by using certain Plextor firmware, plextools and the latest NERO BURN. Liteon, NEC, BENQ support bitsetting. Check out www.cdfreaks.com forums for Pioneer, Plextor, NEC, Benq, BTC & Liteon.
