    Anyone have this same problem and know of a solution? I'm running XP SP1 and the taskbar never auto-hides despite having the option ticked in the taskbar options menu.

    I've had that happen on my win98 machine, I had to uncheck auto hide then apply it, then recheck it and apply.

    Is 'Lock the taskbar' checked? That may make a difference.

    Nah, it's probably mentally challenged and can't grasp the concept of hide and seek. :P Suggest you take it to a specialist.... Dr. Reformat. :P

    Maybe you have something running in the background preventing it from hiding.....such as mouseware???
