Sorry, but I can't find this and I'm just getting more confused the more I read.
I have some XVids I wanted to burn to a DVD. Easily. Quickly.
I have Divx files. I use Tempgenc and they convert beautifully. MySonic and DVD COmplete both recognize them and can burn disks.
However, Xvids don't work- I end up with no sound.
VSO DivxToDvd also works nicely, but I end up with VOBs and I haven't been able to figure out what to do with those. Is there aguide to using Nero or Tempgenc to convert them to MPEGs?
The more steps involved in the processes, the more confused I get. Why is Xvid so much more difficult to convert? Please point me to a guide if available.

DivX/XviD is just the video codec. I think you need to look into the AUDIO that these files have, because that's what's causing your problem
If a program gives you IFO, BUP & VOB files, then you just need to burn these using your favorite burning software, using an appropriate template (DVD-Video for Nero). If in doubt, Google it.
