  10. WW , seeing that I have the new UOPS removal code running now ( UOPS in the stream removal ) should i now remove the slightly dangerous IFO uops code ?

OSEX also crashes on this specific title right after program start, other DVDs are OK.

    ifo_read.c:1365: failed assertion `pgcit->nr_of_pgci_srp < 10000'

    Maybe it helps as well.

    Cheers,

I'd say go ahead and remove the current UOPs removal code, and possibly replace the UOPs button and sheet with a "Clear UOPs" checkbox, since we no longer have all the individual UOPs options (if I understand how the new code works). You might keep the code around, just in case you later find that it has some value, but definitely don't make it user-accessible. Glad to hear you're making progress on that.

  13. right , i just re-wrote the UOP code completely... I removed the prescan that builds the UOP array , and now pass the IFO directly when it is ripped.

    What benefits does this have....

removed the UOP array from the prescan ( Gafield was overflowing it )
Speeeeeds up the RCE stage coz we can now bail out of the PRESCAN RCE code when we hit one itteration of the rce settings.

Started to write my own IFO parse into MTR.

The old panel is still there as it is just as important as it was before... The IFO can control the user choices as much as the UOP bits in the data stream...you need to kill both to be completely free , hence the old UOP warning is still in there to warn you of errors... the new method is %100 more reliable thou.

    more soon.

  14. right just had a mail from Joachim , seems the ltest build he has of MTR works with Garfield... looks like they have taken to flooding the IFO with loads of dummy data....

i have asked for the offending IFOs to look at..

Yes it works, just takes a little while until it is ready for ripping.

    Well done!

Cheers and thanks for the effort.

Yes, TS8 is a Labyrinth game, similar to connected tubes you have to follow and collect items on your way.

I am sorry I dont understand all that technical talk, I thought I would wait for a new version of MTR and now I have the new MTR and Garfield still keeps scanning for ever! Now before you tell me off I would like to say a couple of things, firstly I am not complaining about anything, if you want the Australian disc I will send it and buy another one, it dosent bother me that much as it is only the second disc I have not been able to back up, I simply made the comment that mine did not scan either, I foolishly thought you would want to know. You asked the question at the busiest time of the year for me and I was unaware of a deadline to fix the fault as I have the DVD forever unless it gets damaged!

I have just read again all the posts on this problem and tried ripping again after turning off the pre scan in the preferences of 2.6.1 and left it scanning, after 7 minutes it had scanned the RCE and it was ready to rip,so I turned the pre scan back on and it scanned again after 7 minutes?

Garfield has some funky stuff going on that makes scanning take forever (depending on which DVD drive you have). You can just wait and let it do its thing. Sending us copies of the movie will not change anything, as it will take a long time to scan regardless of what we do, due to the way that particular DVD is set up. It should still rip correctly, however.

Thank you WW and GB, it ripped fine and all works perfect, next time if I buy a disc and have this problem will just leave it scanning.
