now that the pic is done.. eag182.. what did you use to do that? and how? what filters etc.. it looks as though you also darkened the blacks and filled them in more.. with what you had to work with just a simple replace or cut wouldnt do it.. did you go back over parts of it free hand?
fill me in.. i like messing with photos..
it looks like the pic was modified like i did.. then manually edited to remove extra artefacts and darked ares of missing ink.. the lines on some areas are more clean than others.. if thats how it was done.. that was pretty fast..![]()

Yeah, I'm pretty curious myself onto how you did that. You are truley talented!

One more question too. How is it that you can save a picture and have it show very high quality, and yet a small filesize? Is there certain programs or what?
Thanks"The statement below is True,

Well, I won't get it any better that that, so I'll just quit. Several here know all about my (lack of) skill with PS. Of course, if Northcat were here, the lines would be gone, and it would have been textured/colorized/embossed.....

Don't let him misguide you, JPEG is lossy (losses quality every save). You did good by saving it in BMP (loseless). I will let you know exactly what I did tomorrow If someone hasn't already done so by then (strapped for time).

What I've done so far.

okay, everyone else jumped in before I could get there - but here's 5 minutes of dicking around with Photoshop's Replace Color and Brightness/Contrast controls.
I could have dialed it down further, but I couldn't tell if the gray was intentional, or an artifact from a non-flat scan.

This isn't even all that hard. 8)
Replace colors, some levels, and you're all set.
It'll never be perfect, but this is close. You can always decrease mid/gray level and print a new one, then add back shadowing if needed.
