I have a jvc gr dvl 9000 which is in my humble opinion an excellent digital camcorder. It has svideo output and also dv output. Having recently been to disney world in florida i want to put my tapes onto a dvd without losing any quality if possible.

I have wintv go but i don't know if this will capture it or not.

My graphica card is geforce4 mx 420.

I don't mind buying another card as long as it works.

I'm using windows xp and any help would be ace.

    Thanx

You can either get a firewire card and do it that way (best results) or get a capture card. The best capture cards are the ATI All in Wonders. As long as it's one of those, it doesn't matter which model you get, you'll get good results.

Use IEEE1394 FIREWIRE card, and use something like WinDV to transfer the DV footage.

You don't need a capture card. You don't need to capture. You want to transfer the DV data from camera to computer.

Thanks a lot for your help, i believe I have 2 firewire ports on my motherboard so hopefully all i'll need is the firewire lead. Then some research to find out how to transfer it to my hard drive.
