    hi i was wondering if this dvd player plays cd-rs/cd-rws with mpeg files burned on them...and if the color matters? like does it have to be gold layer, or blue layer, etc? thanks for your help..

    I have played CD-Rs of MPEGs on the AD-1500 no trouble. It can even play cDVDs, but not without some trouble that makes it not worth it. Then it again, it might just be my machine. I abused it and it is now filled with dust, so perhaps it had trouble tracking the cDVD due to inner dirt. At any rate, I can attest to it playing MPEGs recorded as data.

    Yes it can play mp3 as data with cdr and cdrw but I have problem with Princo cdrw 80 min, player have a hard time reading latter part of the cd, no problem with 80 min cdr or 74 min cdrw.
