  1. Ok I'm in need of desperate help, I've looked around the internet for help for about 3 hours now and solved some, but now I'm stuck.

I'm doing a project for my graphic class and I need to convert my mpg file to a mov file.

I got quicktime pro 6.3 and i exported it but no audio, after going through the boards I understood that qt pro doesn't export audio with it?? I don't know but I really need to be able to find something to convert my mpg on a WINDOWS OS not a Mac OS please...........

    help me....i need this

Quicktime doesn't export audio that has been muxed. You'll need to demux the mpeg than convert the individual audio and video files then mux them back together in Quicktime and save as a Quicktime movie. Hope this isn't due to day.

You'll need to convert the video and audio files to something quicktime can open. On a PC I have no idea how you'd do that, so maybe a PC user can take over here.

If you're attempting to import into QT, you must import an uncompressed AVI to keep the sound. This was discussed in another thread ... and this answer came direct from Apple's support. Pity they don't tell people this before they buy it (ahem) or, at the very least, put up warning screens when people try the "import from MPG" function.

Solution? Use VirtualDub to convert the MPG to an uncompressed AVI. QT will accept uncompressed AVIs, keeping video/audio intact (and somewhat in sync).
