Bad picture

Hello

I have a question
I make a home movie using a sony trv11.
I saved it whit pinnacle studio 7
I burn it using nero 5.5+
So far so good.
But when i playing it on a stand allone dvd (philips 711)
the whole movie is very bad,its blur and there are blocks on my tvscreen.
I have save diferent numbers of movies, the same result.
Can i change te qualiti of the movie?
Or is my TV too old for this?

I've been experimenting with VCD for a couple of months now and quite frankly I think the claims for quality equivalent to VHS tape is extremely overstated. I'd be satisfied with that but I too get the blocky patches and poor quality images. I've tried the various methods described here. I've also tried to create SVCD's but have had no luck creating one that plays on my Samsung DVD 709.

I had hoped to transfer my Beta VCR tapes to VCD but have abandoned the project as not worth the effort.
