Quick question, can I put an 8x AGP card into a motherboard with a 4x AGP slot.

Yes I think they are all backwards compatible, it drops the card down to 4x -or- is it the other way around.

Yes, you can. I did this in my old Dell - the card will simply drop back to the AGP 4X standard.

The 8X/4X slot is Version 3.0 AGP.
I think I can do this, but it's the opposite of the original question, etc. -
Yes it is the same theory as the card will still only run at 4x as if you had an 8x card in a 4x slot.
