The process seems pretty straight-forward, I'll be burning my first vcd tonight using:

    - Firewire DV capture and editing in VideoFactory to produce source MPG
    - Convert to VCD MPEG1 with TMPGEnc
    - Burn VCD (CD-RW) with NERO

The instructions on this site are very complete, with one exception - what format (codec, resolution, frame rate, aspect ratio, etc.) should I come out of VideoFactory in for best results? I tried pointing it at one of the captured DV clips, but it wouldn't read it, even after adjusting the priority of the AVI VFW plugin in TMPGEnc.

    TIA,
    - DannO

  2. If you've got VideoFactory, you don't need to do the TMPGEnc step. Just make a VCD compatible MPEG from VideoFactory. To do this, go to the File drop down and click Render.... which will launch a dialog box. In there, select the VideoCD template. This is a good place to start. From there you can edit this template or create another to change from Good quality to Best, add motion blurr or whatever.
