  1. I have successfully converted my divx movie files to dvd using tmpg express and nero but I do not always get any sound. I thought the audio extraction was built into the express version. Can someone tell me where I might be going wrong perhaps or what is the best alternative program to use in converting the audio?

    thanks

What format is the AVI audio in? (Use GSpot to tell.) TMPGEnc doesn't take all audio formats as input (AC3 is one) and some just throws it off completely (VBR MP3). Best practice is to demux the audio and decode to wav before encoding with TMPGEnc.

Well, it's obviously MP3 audio, which TMPGEnc usually handles fine (but not VBR). But I suggest loading the AVI into GoldWave, then "Save wav". You could as well use VirtualDub for this step, but it's easier with Goldwave. (Easier to explain, in any case! )
Use AVI as video source, your wav as audio source when encoding with TMPGEnc.
