  1. After playing a copy of Shrek 2 in my Koss KS3120-2 standalone player none of my dvd-r will play.
A message comes up saying "Incompatible disc"
All store bought dvd's will play, the Shrek 2 storebought will play, the Shrek 2 copy will play, but no other dvd-r.
I fixed this problem with a tip from this site (Press Menu, enter 76419 to reset to factory defaults)
I used DVD Decrypter to make an ISO file, mounted it in Daemon tools, burned with DVD shrink(region free).
This is the first time this has occurred, is there a setting I missed somewhere or is DreamWorks messing with me.
    Thanks,
    Brian

I saw the same thing happen on a friends toshiba
    set-top. We played -r dvd's for a full weekend
problem free. All of a sudden it would only read
factory disks. All recorded disks, which we had
already watched, came up with disk error. The
unit was under warrenty, and promptly returned.
The replacement has been working fine since. I
hope your unit is still warrented.

  4. After I reset the player with the remote, all works fine, so I decided to test it.
Store bought and my recorded DVD's play.
Shrek 2 storebought plays and my DVD's play.
Shrek 2 copy plays and then my recorded DVD's will not play.
I'm convinced there is a code in the copy of Shrek 2.
Shrek 2 is a relativly new release so I'm thinking conspiracy,,,,,

If you really want to test your theory get another copy on a different brand of disc burned on another burner, if possible. I have seen bad pressed discs send some players into oblivion until they could be reset.
Still a few bugs in the system...

After my standalone is affected by the Shrek2 copy, my dvd-r"s load at the same speed as factory dvds, but come up as "incompatible disc" as opposed to "play". It appears the Koss player is merely reading some code to say incompatible instead of labouring to try to start the dvd-r.

After pressing play, theS2 copy went through the the following,
Extras (replaced by a single still frame)
Menu board (Play the movie NOW!)
Main Movie in english. (played it for 5 minutes)

Loading the ISO from daemon to dvd shrink only shows the main movie. audio. and extras in the "what to burn" window. so yes there were other files but I don't know what they are.

Have made 2 copies from original iso, both yield the same results(media is not at fault, must be the ISO)
