  1. I just downloaded TDA 1.6 to try out. Creating a single track, I edited a movie that I recorded from TV and cut out the commercials. This automatically created chapters for me. In the Create Menu area, I have my chapters listed. But there are no thumbnails displayed. If I edit a chapter, then a thumbnail is displayed on the Text Settings dialog. According to the help, I am suppose to be able to double click on the thumbnail in order to change it. That does not work. I then created my DVD files and viewed them using PowerDVD. When I clicked on Chapter Menu, I go to my list of chapters but there are no thumbnails. How can I get the thumbnails to display in my chapter menu?

  2. A thumbnail shows exactly what video is present at it's position. Sometimes it's just black.
To edit anything in Author just click it once. In the case of a thumbnail, click it and a viewer box should pop up with the label "change thumbnail image" use the slider to seek through the video to any frame you'd like to be your thumbnail and hit "Ok".
If that doesn't work, you've got some weird issue because it's a very easy process.

I think what is happening is that you only have the tect for the chapter ie. chapter 1, 2 .... but no actual thumbnail display above that ? If so, It's because of the menu theme you've chosen. Go to the Menu area, then select Edit Theme. The top left is where you select what the main menu will contain, and the one below that is for the track menus. I'd say you've got one of the text-only ones selected in here, Change this to one with thumbnails and text, then click on each thumbnail if you want to chagne the image it displays.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  4. Jim,

That was it. Choose a different theme and all is right with the world.

    Thanks,
