  1. I have an XVID AVI that I converted to VCD using TMPENC.. I then burned the VCD compliant .MPG using Nero.

My problem is... my DVD player wont play it. The DVD player plays VCD's fine so it's not that.

    What am I doing wrong?

If I put the VCD back in the computer I can play the .DAT file with Windows Media player.

Am I missing a setting? What info can I give you guys to diagnose the problem?

  2. Havok,

Sorry - I know this doesn't address your problem directly, but it might be a practical solution if you can't get Nero to author your VCDs.

Drag your .MPG file that TMPGEnc outputted into VCDEasy, and use that to create the VCD image file. Feed that into Nero (although I prefer CDRWin) and burn it as an image file. It should work no problem.

I say this because I had the same trouble - VCDs authored directly through Nero wouldn't work on one of my two DVD players. No idea why.

Also, use a CD-RW to test the burn so you don't end up with a coaster or two!

    Hope this helps,

    Cobra
