    I have this problem when encoding a movie from a DVD author 1.5 program file it says this

    dvd shrink encountered an error and cannot continue
    program error -exception occurred not enough storage is available to process this command

    I have used dvd shrink heaps of times and I have 30gb spare on my Hard Drive

    What can be causing this

    just a update I did it on a different hard drive and still does it
    the error come up after it does the Analysling

    Are your drives set to NTFS or FAT32 ?

    FAT32 has a 2 GB file size limitation that can cause this error.

    OK then, 4 GB. If he has 30gb spare and the system is complaining of space issues, this is still the most likely candidate.

    Second on the list would be Norton's protected recycle bin.

    That shouldn't be what the problem is. Shrink ceates 1 gig files. I have 98 and have never received this error. Did you change any settings?

    Sounds silly but try empty recycle bin if you haven't already. Guns1inger made a good point regarding norton protected recycle bin. 4 gig limit shouldn't be an issue, unless you are trying to output as disc image, and even then I believe windows will automatically break the >4 gig file into 4 gig + remaining gigs.

    "not enough storage is available to process this command" - sounds like a RAM issue ???

    Try rebooting and then try it again.

    I'm running NTFS

    30 gb spare

    I dont have norton installed

    Recycle bin is empty

    I just used DVD clone worked fine
