  1. i have a problem with some dvds ive recently done, i took the mpegs from 2 svcd's and joined them with avi/mpeg/rm/wmv joiner v4.01, then i ran it thru tmpgenc 3.0 xpress to bring the resolution up to 720x576, next i used tmpgenc dvd author to encode and burn it to a dvd. ver 1.5.15.49
everythings fine except the movie always freezes at the exact spot where the join is.
what do you lot use to join togther ? or where am i going wrong?

  2. Don't join your files. If you want to bump up the resolution do it, but 720x576 may be overkill unless your source is already a higher res. Your call.
Load both mpgs into TMPGEnc DVD Author as part of one track. Author will join the two when the disc is outputted.
I can tell you from many experiences that Author has no problem joining files together as long as they are encoded correctly in the first place. There should be no way to tell where the join is.

Yep!!! except i have discovered that if you leave a chapter mark in the exact spot where the two tracks are joined i have gotten a slight pause, if i delete the chapter mark from the begining of the second track and move it even one frame away it will not cause this problem, i have now tried this a few times and it has done it everytime. and i have been using TMPGEnc DVD Author since it first came out and love it!!!!!!!!

I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, all i can say is i have had it happen everytime!!!

  4. that leads me onto my next problem...
when i open part 1 of the mpeg tmpgenc DA says its "an illegal video file" and "it must be mpeg1 or mpeg2", part 2 opens fine and the joined mpeg opens fine.
it says it cannot be ignored.

thanks for the quick reply btw.
