    Hello all,

What I need your help for is this:
I want to take a dvd and uncompress its contents to avi.
Please notice that I don't want to make a divx or xvid file, I want to have an UNCOMPRESSED file as a result.
That's because I want to edit some low quality dvds I have (adjust contrast and brightness) and as far as I know this cannot be done on compressed formats.
Please feel free to suggest anything, I'll appreciate all your help.
    Thank you all in advance,

    Xenophon

You can edit and add video filters with Virtualdub-mpeg2 or VirtualdubMOD or avisynth. They all can import vobs.

Or convert to uncompressed avi with Virtualdubmod, Virtualdub-mpeg2, Vidomi, DVD2AVI, DVDx. Just select Uncompressed AVI instead of divx or xvid under the compression.

Or frameserve the dvd to a "fake" avi that you can open in most tools using dvd2avi and vfapi reader. Open the vobs in dvd2avi and select save project, then convert the project file to a avi with vfapi reader.

If you have commercial dvds you must first rip the dvd to your hd, you can use dvd decrypter.
