A drive can only have 4 partitions.
You can have more logical drives though. -
That was/is my understanding also (4 primary), but seem to think that in looking for partioning software lateley, one of them claimed to be able to create up to 99 (did not specifiy if primary or logical)Originally Posted by bazooka
What ever number you have, you had a way to create and format them. Try to reformat the drive/partition that is giving problems. OR from a boot floppy you could run scandisk on that drive/partition
Another quirk, last drive (possible drive letter/#) is not z.
Practical use was terrible, but did it after reading a post just to see.
This was quite some time ago, using dos fdisk, small logical partitions on a large drive -
Hmmmm... Did it ever work in windows (it was working and suddenly you couldn't access it), or have you never been able to access it?my hard drive has 5 partitions ...4 are working well but the last partition is not working properly/?when ever i tried to access any content frm that drive my computer get hang and i need to restart.?wat wud be the problem ?is it possible to fix the bad sector(if any) or to repair that hard drive.???
