  1. I'm putting old documentaries to DVD with WizCap, which converts VHS to MPEG2.
Sometimes during the show's end credits there is unwanted voice-over.
I want to edit-out the unwanted voice-over and keep the end credits images.

At what point should I attempt that audio editing so that I have the best chance of rendering the changes and keeping video-audio synchronized.

Please walk me through the steps of conversion, editing, rendering, whatever is required to do the job.

I have Windows XP, and have had no problems with my CPU or video card during basic work done with DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink.
I have TMPGenc but I'm still reading the docs, haven't used it yet.

Thanks for any and all help.

Open the video in Goldwave, silence the voice over. Be sure that you don't cut anything just silence. Save as wav, convert the audio to mp2 using for example ffmpeggui.

Multiplex the mp2 audio back to the video, under tmpgenc file->mpeg tools->simple multiplex.

  3. I've done this quite a number of times with TMPGEnc DVD Author. First figure out how long your credits are and create an MP2 audio clip that long that is just silence.
Load your footage in as a track and edit off the end credits. Now load your footage again as part of the SAME track and choose your silence file for it's audio track. To finish it off go in and edit off all the video BEFORE the credits.
When you output this Author will join the clips as one seamless track and the voiceover will be cut off without messing up your sync. Of course you can choose to use music instead of silence, it's up to you.
