Have you tried using Subtitle Workshop for your conversion? It works pretty well.

In return, could you recommend some good sites to find Chinese subtitles? Thanks.

  5. You could try DVDSANTA.
This was taken from one of the comments posted here,
"Fabulous program if you want burned in subtitles. Make sure its a srt file, the same name as the movie and in the same folder. DVDSanta will automatically make a file with the subtitles.
Very useful as well if you have a movie split over two avi files. Drag and drop and press a button and finished. It even keeps 5.1 surround sound intact. Not really fast but the quality is very good if not excellent. "

I have not tried this yet, but I use DVDSANTA and am very happy with it.

  6. I can confirm the subtitles DO get burned into the DVD created by DVD Santa. I'm on version 3.40 build 4860.
As EvilWizardGlick states just make sure the SRT file is in the same folder as the movie file (whatever type it is, avi , ogm, etc) AND that it has the exact same name.

You might need to rename the SRT file as it generally comes with a slightly different file name to the film file. i.e
    <file name>-english.srt
