I found this thread the other night:'

    https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=245157&highlight=

and then went to Newegg.com http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=82-107-014&depa=0

and found it...seems to be a sweet deal. seems that the only thing it won't play is MPEGs, and it's cheap!! That's what I'm all about!!

then, there is also this one:
    http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproductdesc.asp?description=82-107-016&DEPA=0

EDIT: sorry...didn't notice that you (both) were from Australia...

    Hi Lord,

The Zensonic played all of the xvid/divx samples on the German divx test cd.
    ftp://ftp.mtu.ru/pub/horgi/outdoor/DivXTestCD.zip
The couple of very high bitrate files that skipped a tad were smooth
when put on DVD-R. It was also great value as a 2nd DVD player at
    just $130.

Being the impulse buyer that I am (and based on offline's first-hand recommendation ), I decided to purchase the Zensonic Z330 from warcom.com.au for $144 shipped. I eagerly wait with anticipation.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  11. Have a play around with it before upgrading the
    firmware
and be careful not to break the cd tray.

Don't know, but it plays just about everything else including raw MPEG according to the reviews, and the Z300 plays DVD-MP3 according to the reviews here, so I'd say that more than likely it will play DVD-MP3.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Put in a multi session xvid with cd2 of king arthur which also had files on it and it played perfect, from a cdr! Very Happy. Just gotta b careful with the dvd drive as it is fragile.

    Now, my question is
    1. How do you make a DVD with multiple Xvids and a menu?
    2. Can you, and if so add chapters to Xvids
    Thx

they have, just not within the avi container. mp4 already has that functional and mkv is supposedly working on it.
Needless to say that standalones don't support this fancy stuff yet

EDIT: I was talking about menus. Chapters in mkv are possible already.
Sorry, I had to go see about a girl

  23. I have the Zensonic Z300 as well. It is quite a capable player.

It plays DivX 5 clips very well.

The DVD playback quality is probably not quite as good as my old Pioneer player though.

It reads both DVD-R and DVD+R discs fine.

The CD/DVD tray is flimsy, however, and the remote control is somewhat weak.

    Regards.

  24. Neodigits, the makers of the NeuNeo players had a player about 6 months earlier with the same case/front plate as the Zensonic. Of course, these and other players have just half a dozen or so OEM manufacturers that put over 2 dozen different names on them. Just FYI, don't mean anything else. I have a Sungale 8500 karaoke player that I've seen as 4 other "brands" for example.

  25. Question: I'm extremely interested in picking up a DivX DVD player but I would primarily be using it for subtitled avi anime episodes. What players would support these types of files and subtitles?

Bonus points if they're/it is available in Canada or able to shipped to Canada.

    Thanks in advance!

Well, my Z330 arrived with the mail yesterday. I haven't had a chance to fully test it, but I quickly burnt a DivX AVI to CD and was quite impressed with the overall setup of the player, from what I saw. I found the remote to be weak also - I would have been about 5 metres away and it was struggling. Once I've had a chance to throw a few different formats at it, I'll put a review in the DVD Players section, but my first impression is that this is pretty neat.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Also, my dad has a DEC dvd player which is new and looks exactly like mine, same buttons, same inputs, same size, just differnt badge and different cosmetic. It has the same software menu But it doesnt play MPEG4? does any one know if you can upgrade a DEC dvd player to Xvid as im sure it has the hardware capability.

  29. Lord,

there are a number of units that look like the Z300,
the new neo being one, but they are NOT the same.
Case, drive and PS are sold oem to different manufacturers who add their own chipsets or specify
a third manufacturer to supply them. Your DEC may or may not
be one of those. You would have to risk flashing the rom with
    Zensonic firmware.

Zensonic BTW have demonstrated that they support
their customers by listening to their issues and
providing flash upgrades to fix or add features
where possible. A big plus in my book!
