canopus procoder : separate audio

TMPGEnc does not seem to want to convert my avi to dvd but I can do it
with procoder ,but...
After I load the avi, how do I load a .wav file to provide the soundtrack?
Surely I can do it but I cant see how!

You'll have to frameserve if you want to use separate video and audio files with ProCoder. In the ProCoder forum Canopus_BH recommends Avisynth.

Since ProCoder 1.5 and later support AVISynth script import (.avs files), you can use AVISynth together with ProCoder in order to use separate audio and video files as a single source in ProCoder.

This is helpful in cases where your video is in a separate file from the audio, or you have a need to replace the audio in the video file without having to export directly from EDIUS or Premiere.

1) Download and install AVISynth from http://www.avisynth.org/

2) Create your AVISynth script file, named something.avs
A sample file appears below:

AudioDub(AVISource("MyVideo.avi"), WAVSource("MyAudio.wav"))

Replace MyVideo.avi with the name of your video file and replace MyAudio.wav with the name of your audio file. Be sure there is a line-break at the end of the line (hit Enter at the end of the line)

3) Load the .avs file into ProCoder - ProCoder will see both the audio and video together as if they were in the same file, so the output from ProCoder will contain both audio and video.

You can frameserve to ProCoder with VirtualDub as well.

you dont have to frame serve - just select "alternate audio" in souce selection and click on your file ..

you can load anything, ac3 , mp3 , wav or even an avi with muxed audio ..

Of course, now I see Canopus have added that option in ProCoder 2. I should have checked before posting.

I assume it can't be done without frameserving if you're still using ProCoder 1.5 though, and tommid didn't mention which version of ProCoder he's got.

your right -- 1.5 needs frame serving to do this ...

there is one little problem though .. sometimes

if you do time stretch shrink options in PC2 (also express) , the audio will not be in sync ..
