  1. I started using Windvr to replace the lifevideo software that came with my packard bell tv card

At first it was an improvement over the lifeview until i realized there was probelm with sound. It kind of wobbles during the recording (i know that is not really descriptive but thats all i can think of to describe it) It is mostly obvious if there is music in the background. Check the mpeg in the following zip file to see what i mean, hopefully

    test.zip

When there is only talk it is ok except there are very short cuts during the conversation.

I changed the settings from customized to best to better but nothing changed. the Lifeview sofware never had this problem

i really like windvr and would like to use it but cannot since i wanna keep some of these recordings. please help me and tell me what i can to do

    thanks

  2. 1st. Is your computer fairly new (700 mhz or faster)

    Questions,
Are you using the latest version of WinDVR?
Soundcard is it on your Motherboard or is it a PCI card such as a Sound Blaster type card?

Iv'e been using WinDVR for 3 years on 2 different systems and never had a sound problem. Although Iv'e always used a Sound Blaster card.

  3. I Have this problem too I made a post about it but no one replied

Here's what I have done so far:

-Reformated my hard drive and installed win ME on 1.8 Ghz Athlon XP, I installed Windvr 3 and I STILL had the problem of audio gaps.

-I have 2 sound cards, one on mother board and one PCI; both had audio gaps.

-I captured with main concept encoder and there were no more audio gaps.

Too bad it doesn't have a scheduler.

  6. -record in mpeg audio instead of lpcm or dd and see if there is an improvment
-you can try Chris Tv pvr which can use intervideo codecs (windvr) to record in mpeg2 and not limited to dvd presets so you can raise the bitrate etc..
