  1. At the moment, I've been using Sorenson Squeeze, I am very unimpressed with the results, maybe it's just in combination with my authoring tool or something bit it oversaturates most shots and the oversaturated colours 'hum' far too noticeably. So I tried authoring a DVD with the raw dv files (instead of squeeze's compressed to dvd files) and have the authoring program (Ulead DVD Workshop) compress the during the export, this gave a much better result that squeeze (the finished product on t.v looked much more like the original dv files), yet I can still see a little tiny bit of visible compression when I look hard or pause it.

    So basically is there another specific program for compressing to DVD I could try? I used TMPGEnc for my video last year and was unimpressed with that too. Any suggestions?

    DVD Workshop does a pretty good job.

    Have you tried Womble MPEG Video Wizard? I've gotten superb DV-to-MPEG2 encodes using that.
