    Hi,

    Yesterday for the first time I hooked up a TV /13"/ to my ATI AIW 9600XT and while an .avi file is playing on my monitor there's nothing going on on the TV - only a black PowerDVD or Ati file player window and the desktop at the background. Any ideas why?

    Enable Theater Mode in the Overlay settings.

    Another option is to make your TV the primary display but I prefer Theater Mode.

    restart your computer, the connection from the computer to the tv will not be detected until a restart

    On my old AIW 128 i use to have to lower the refresh rate before anything would display. Does theater mode lower the refresh rate for you?

    I use a Dell TFT monitor, 60Hz, 1600x1200. I don't notice any difference when using Theater Mode. I haven't used a CRT monitor since I bought an ATI AIW 8500.
