Here's a picture of a website I'm doing for a friend/customer.
They found a site they liked and wanted me to copy it. BUT they wanted to change the colors. The burnt red color matches their biz card logo with a marble background
What do you think?

"I thought I'd never see colors worse than the original vcd colors. But I have now."
just kidding - it's okay, I'm not crazy about the "big block" design, but that's just me... is the client happy with it?

Tell me about it, but they wanted to match the color of the logo on their biz cardsOriginally Posted by housepig
They chose the site for me to copy.
I'm waiting to hear back if they like it or what they want changed. I hope the colors -
I hate shit like that - working in a print shop, people wanting digital prints on a color laser, and it has to match exactly the printing on their business cards that were offset-printed with Pantone colors...Originally Posted by stiltman
...ahoy... it's a different system - it's never going to exactly match - especially with this crappy blue shade!
doing the same on the web is doubly silly - I could blow my brains out trying to match a print color, and it's only going to "match" if every viewer's monitor is set exactly like mine...
anyway, rant over - I hope they like your work.- housepig

So copying DVD's is a no-no but copying someones code and layout is OK? I know there is a limited amount of ways to set up a site but........Originally Posted by stiltman

If the site has a copyright notice, I don't copy their code.Originally Posted by thecoalman
If a site doesn't have a copyright notice, why not?
All my sites have copyright notices, I also get credit to any free code I get from websites that publish code for people to use
