first this is my system specs
windows xp pro sp1
xp 2800
asus nforce 2
radeon 9800xt
1 gig corsair xms 3500 ram overclocked to 433mghz
2x80 gig serial ata maxtors running raid 0
1x140 gig maxtor on ide
6x 80 mil fans
1x 80 mil fan for cpu puttin out 92 cfm, extreme cooling but loud.
52x creative cd drive
52x lite on burner
8x nec dvd burner usb 2.0
klite mega codec pack newest version.
when im burn a dvd with any program nero, ect.
3 out of 4 times it turns out black and white and only half the picture shows

Waht it is your source? What kind of DVD are you trying to burn? DVD Video, SVCD, Divx, ? How do you get the files / image to burn?
How do those pictures you in the monitor?Newbie to DVD backup -
source is video_ts regular dvd movie. i have used many different programs to burn them

Nero should be able to do that. Start a new video DVD project, drag the content of the VIDEO_TS folder over to the one Nero creates.
But your symptoms seem to indicate the wrong TV system (PAL/NTSC) for your equipment.

thats what i was thinkin, currently using adobe encore dvd, to rencode to ntsc. will see if it works

Like mats says, seems like a PAL / NTSC issue. And a more descriptive thread title would definately help your cause. A lot of people that see please help as the title just ignore the thread.
