  1. I have an svcd file which has out of sync audio, video about 4 s ahead. Trying to rectify this, i used a few different methods, including those listed on this site in the guides. De-multiplexing files in tmpgenc is no problem, but when trying to Multiplex the trimmed sound file and original video feed, i just get one long black screen with no sound as it's output. Then trying to re-encode the video in tmpgenc, it refuses to load the mpeg, saying "cannot open or unssuported". When trying to use virtualdub (modded and regular version) i get an pack synchronization error and it will not load. By using extended options and selecting "allow partial streams" it allowed me without a warning, but with no video showing, and crashed and soon as i pushed the frameserv button. G-spot recognizes the file and says renders correctly with something called "ligos", but gives "n.a." for video and audio codec of file. This file works perfectly with the exception of the audio sync, can somebody please help me make sense of it, because i've been rippin my hair out for the last 3 hours.

    You havn't even started yet!

Tmpgenc has problems opening mpeg-2 files (as you have seen). Things to try. Install PowerDVD (the demo will do) and TmpGenc will use the mpeg-2 code this installs to open the mpeg. If it still fails try raising the direct show priority under environmental settings.

If this still doesn't work, you can frameserv it using DVD2Avi. Just loead your mpeg and select save project. This will creat a large audio file and a much smaller projuect file (I forget the extension at the moment, something like .d2v) Anyway, open this file as the video source in TmpGenc and it should be happy.
