I have this OEM Nero CD that came with my NEC drive, it has all the Nero 6 functionalities and all the features (Nero Startsmart)... but I JUST HATE the stupid interface of Express... I remember on the 5.5 I was able to change from Express to normal Nero Burning ROM full-version with a tweak... how can I do that on Nero Express 6, if at all?

    Thnx a lot!

There should be a button on the bottom of the Nero Express window that says "Nero". If you click it, you'll get out of express mode. I'm not sure if you're looking at the same version as the Nero 6 I've run, but if so, that's how you do it.

The nero that came with your burner is the OEM version. You have to purchase the full version.

I crossed that bridge a few years ago when I bought my burner.

I beleive in 5.5, if you have "Nero" you could have switched back and forth between Nero and Nero Express.

If your Burner came with Nero Express, there was no option to goto Nero, HOWEVER, there was a tweak (dont remember what), that would have enable you to make it Nero and I did that when I got my last Nero Express (but dont remember now, as it was like 2 years ago).

So, was wondering if there's a tweak like that for Nero 6 or not?!

  7. There is a little flame thing, looks like a baby basinet on fire, clicking on it toggles between the two modes. I have purchased the 6 version over the OEM but I think the former had the two different modes. Try programs, nero, nero burning rom. The fire thing on top will change it to Express. The fire thing on the bottom will change it back.

In Nero Express the Flame Icon -Nero is bottom left. Single click takes you to Nero Burning Rom

For the reverse there is a Flame Icon in the Toolbar (under Database) - gives tooltip "switches to Nero Express". Or open Help > Use Nero Express. You're just another click away.

PS I have Nero 6 SE with d/l upgrades to 6.6

When I click on the flame button called "Nero" it opens up a new window and says "Visit Nero.com to find out why Nero is the best...."

I dont see any other option on the programs to get the damn Nero Burning Rom...

Even their help says to click on that button to switch to Nero Burning Rom... but it doesn't do it!

Yes, it's the serial number. I removed the serial number in SmartStart, then it showed me the Nero Burning ROM icon... I chose it, it asked for serial number, I entered it, it accepted it and I went in and actually burned a couple of DVDs... BUT THEN, after I closed it, it went back to the damn express! I did the same thing and got in the Burning ROM but after closing it, it will go back to the damn freaking express... I HATE EXPRESS

I think the last time I had issues with serial numbers for Nero, I removed the serial number as you did in smartstart, then rebooted, then go into nero, enter your serial number, then reboot again. If I didn't do the reboots inbetween it did what yours is doing. Just a thought
    If in doubt, Google it.

restart didnt's work either! I think my OEM serial# doesn't include Burning ROM which is QUITE STUPID... it's like it express does everything that Nero does but for DUMB PEOPLE and I guess they assume OEM users are DUMB people
