Every year on the day after Thanksgiving stores will have blowout prices on a lot of electronic items. Last year I was one of the suckers that got a Cyberhome 1500 for $199 at Fry's. At the time that was a rock bottom price. Does anyone have a clue as to what if any DVD recorders might be on a big discount this year? Should be interesting.

  2. Yes, I know!!!

It will be the one left in the garbage bag on the street... The lowest price, for sure!!!

  3. I would say the NEC 3500A looks to be the best buy for quite some time.

Are you looking to be a sucker and get a cheap one again? Pay more and get more, only way to go.

  8. Not sure how Black Friday is going to turn out. Frys has been... lets say pretty thin on sales around holidays this year.

I guess if any the price would hit 99 with some strange rebate. But since most have pop out around 140 and up odds are dont hold your breath.

  12. Recently I saw online that Wal Mart had cut the price of the Aspire Digital 8091 to about $139. It was available "online only" but the last time I checked their website it was no longer listed as in stock. The reviews have been very mixed on this recorder, though. Although Consumer Reports listed it on its ratings section of its latest issue. Some variation of Lite-on would be the best bet, I believe, for a really good deal.
Have you heard the news, there's good rockin' tonight.

    Hey - we had ours!

BTW, if you are looking for a good quality DVD burner at a very, very good price, check out Tigerdirect.ca. They have the Plextor PX-712 12x DVD-RW internal IDE drive going for $65.00CDN (after a $30 mail in rebate).

That is the black model - the beige model is $77 or $78 after rebate.

Still an amazing price for a top quality unit!

  22. Yep! I agree.

Best to look at the next offering up from that.

Buy something a few bucks more than need to buy its replacement after a few months of finding limitations. The difference between the D04 and the 220 is night and day for that 100 more.

Darn that ham is taking its time......

Just because something is cheap does not mean
it's more inferior than a more expensive unit.
There's been countless times where I've seen "name brand",
expesnsive products, with "sucker" written all over
    it.
Know what features, and quality, to look for.
Most stores are pretty good about returns if it's not what you
    want.
There was a time when Sony meant quality. Though they're
some of the most expensive products, I won't go near them.

    Happy Thanksgiving.

I just got back from Costco where they are selling the LVW-5005 Lite-On All Write for $155. Not quite as good as the K-Mart deal but in 1 years time I can return mine to Costco and buy the next best deal.

I've had it for about 2 weeks now and its good enough for me.
